The afternoon was warm and humid. I was on my way home after school. To get
home, I walk past a park.
Suddenly, I heard some disturbing noises. “Ugly bird! Useless bird!” the voices went.
To my horror, I saw two primary boys poking a baby heron with some sticks.
Nearby, a nest lay half destroyed on the grass.
The poor bird’s limp body was badly hurt. Its feathers were ruffled and bloody.
Enraged, I ran towards the boys. “Stop bullies! Stop it at once!” I shouted.
The boys ignored me. They ran as fast as their two legs could carry them.
They hit on a tall and strong ranger. I ran to the ranger and told him what had
happen.
The ranger took their necks. He warned them in a deep, stern voice, “Young men,
you are in trouble for your cruel act. Come with me to the police post now.”
Thanks
